Mental Health Services for Black and Minority Ethnicity Groups

Who We Are

Our service is grounded in person‑centred counselling, offering a warm, culturally attuned space where Black and ethnic minority individuals can explore their wellbeing without judgment. We honour each person’s lived experience, recognising the impact of culture, identity, and systemic inequalities on mental health. By focusing on empathy, authenticity, and empowerment, we support clients to find their own voice, strengthen resilience, and move toward healing in a way that feels true to who they are.

We exist to provide a compassionate, culturally grounded counselling service where Black and ethnic minority individuals feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued. Our approach is rooted in person‑centred counselling, which means we place your voice, your experiences, and your pace at the centre of every session. We believe that healing grows from empathy, authenticity, and a trusting therapeutic relationship — not from assumptions or one‑size‑fits‑all solutions.

We understand that culture, identity, racism, migration, faith, and family dynamics can shape how distress is experienced and expressed. That’s why we offer a space where these realities are acknowledged with respect and cultural humility. Our role is to walk alongside you, helping you explore your emotions, strengthen your resilience, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been overlooked or silenced.

We are committed to delivering high‑quality, accessible mental health support that challenges inequality and empowers individuals and communities to thrive. Every person who walks through our doors brings a unique story — and we honour that story with dignity, care, and unwavering respect.

Anxiety

This is a mental illness that causes constant and overwhelming anxiety and fear. Excessive anxiety symptoms and attacks can make you avoid work, school, family get-togethers, and other social situations that might trigger or worsen your symptoms.

OCD

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition where you have recurring thoughts and repetitive behaviours that you cannot control. The main symptoms of OCD are unpleasant thoughts and repetitive behaviours that control you and your actions rather than you controlling them.

Depression

Depression is a low mood that lasts for weeks or months and affects your daily life. Symptoms of depression include feeling unhappy or hopeless, low self-esteem and finding no pleasure in things you usually enjoy.
